According to investigators with the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:55 a.m. on Wednesday. Preliminary findings indicate that Parrish was driving a Hyundai Sonata in the middle lane when her vehicle struck the rear of a Ford Escape that had slowed due to traffic conditions. A Chevrolet utility truck traveling behind subsequently collided with the Sonata, resulting in a chain-reaction crash involving multiple vehicles.
Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene, but despite their efforts, Parrish was pronounced dead at the location of the collision. Authorities reported that no other injuries resulted from the crash.
