HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Family, friends, and members of the Hanover Township community are mourning the tragic loss of Brooke Schuler, 29, who died following a head-on collision on Thursday morning, June 4, 2026.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 6:52 a.m. on State Route 177, just south of Vizedom Road in Hanover Township. Deputies responded to reports of a serious two-vehicle crash and discovered a devastating collision involving a 2011 Kia Soul and a 2011 Jeep Cherokee.
Investigators reported that Schuler was driving the Kia Soul northbound when the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane. The Kia then collided head-on with the Jeep Cherokee, resulting in catastrophic damage to both vehicles.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, but Schuler suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Jeep Cherokee, a 20-year-old man, sustained injuries and later sought treatment at a local hospital.
Due to the severity of the collision, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (S.T.A.R.T.) was called to investigate. Officials continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash and are working to determine what caused the vehicle to cross the center line.
