The communities of St. John and Larned, Kansas, are mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Troy Andrew Devine, who passed away on June 5, 2026, at Integris Health Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma. He was 28 years old.
Born on April 8, 1998, in Great Bend, Kansas, Troy was the beloved son of Darin Devine and Chrissy (Eversole) Devine. Raised in Stafford County, he graduated from St. John High School in 2017 and built a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and devotion to those he loved.
Troy was known throughout the community as a dependable and dedicated worker. He served as a Foreman with Dig-Rite Hydro Excavation, where his leadership, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence earned him the respect of coworkers and supervisors alike. Prior to that, he worked as a farmhand for Cornwell Farms, where he developed a reputation for reliability and determination. Whether on a job site or in the field, Troy approached every responsibility with pride and professionalism.
While he was respected for his career accomplishments, those closest to him know that his greatest source of pride was his family. Above all else, Troy cherished his role as a father to his son, Weston Devine. Friends and family describe his love for Weston as unwavering and unconditional. He treasured every moment spent with his son and worked tirelessly to provide support, guidance, and love.
Troy is survived by his son, Weston Devine; Weston’s mother, Rachel Bussen; his mother, Chrissy (Mark) Green; his father, Darin Devine; his brother, Austin White; his sister, Makayla; his grandparents; nieces and nephew; extended family members; and many close friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
His passing has left an immeasurable void among those who knew and loved him. Family members have shared heartfelt memories of his strength, kindness, and devotion, expressing both profound grief and gratitude for the time they shared with him. Friends remember Troy as genuine, hardworking, and loyal—a person who could always be counted on and who never hesitated to help others when they were in need.
Those who knew Troy speak of his authenticity, his quiet determination, and his ability to build lasting friendships. He possessed a character that inspired trust and respect, and his impact extended far beyond his professional life. Through his actions, relationships, and commitment to family, he touched countless lives.
