SARCOXIE, Mo. — Authorities in Jasper County are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after a married couple was found dead inside their Sarcoxie home on the morning of Friday, June 5, 2026.
The victims have been identified as 62-year-old David S. Harrison and his wife, 58-year-old Aleasha Harrison.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the residence shortly before 8:45 a.m. after receiving a report of two deceased individuals inside the home. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered both David and Aleasha Harrison deceased at the scene.
Investigators confirmed that both individuals suffered gunshot wounds. The residence was immediately secured as detectives processed the scene and began collecting evidence as part of an ongoing investigation.
Based on preliminary findings, authorities believe David Harrison fatally shot his wife, Aleasha Harrison, before turning the gun on himself. Officials stated that the case is being investigated as an apparent murder-suicide.
Law enforcement emphasized that the investigation remains active, and officials have not released details regarding a possible motive or what may have led up to the incident. Detectives continue to review evidence and conduct interviews in order to better understand the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
