Saginaw Township, Michigan
A deadly stabbing in a residential Saginaw Township neighborhood has left one man dead and another in custody as investigators work to determine what led to the violent confrontation.
Authorities identified the victim as Brandon Michael Armstrong, 33, a lifelong Saginaw Township resident who died after suffering multiple stab wounds during an altercation on the evening of June 4, 2026.
Incident Details
According to the Saginaw Township Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:04 p.m. to the 4500 block of Ashwood Drive West following reports of a physical fight between two men.
While officers were en route, dispatchers received additional information indicating that one of the individuals had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers discovered Armstrong unconscious in a driveway with severe injuries to his torso.
Responding officers immediately initiated lifesaving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived. Despite those efforts, Armstrong was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect Arrested
Police said the suspect fled the area in a vehicle before officers arrived. Detectives quickly canvassed the neighborhood and collected surveillance footage from nearby residences.
Investigators reported that video evidence helped identify both the suspect and the vehicle involved. The suspect was later located and taken into custody without incident at another location within Saginaw Township.
The individual has been lodged in the Saginaw County Jail on an open murder charge pending review by the Saginaw County Prosecutor’s Office.
Under Michigan law, an open murder charge allows the court to determine whether the facts support first-degree murder, second-degree murder, or another homicide offense as the case proceeds.
Ongoing Investigation
Investigators continue to examine several unanswered questions, including:
- The nature of the relationship between Armstrong and the suspect.
- What triggered the confrontation.
- Whether the knife used in the stabbing has been recovered.
- Whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
Police have not released additional details regarding a possible motive.
The investigation is being conducted by the Saginaw Township Police Department with assistance from the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police.
