SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Family, friends, and members of the Woodruff community are mourning the tragic loss of Anna Maureen LeCoq, 27, who died following a motor vehicle collision in Spartanburg County on Friday evening, June 5, 2026.
According to Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger, emergency responders were called to Spartanburg Medical Center after a crash victim was transported there for treatment following a collision on Aiken Road in the Woodruff area.
Despite efforts by medical personnel, LeCoq succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities reported that the collision occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Aiken Road. The victim was later identified as Anna Maureen LeCoq of Bridwell Road in Woodruff.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. In addition, the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office will perform a forensic examination to assist investigators in determining the cause of death and any contributing factors related to the collision.
At this time, officials have not released further information regarding what led to the crash, whether additional vehicles were involved, or whether any charges may be pending. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
