NORWOOD, Ohio — Authorities have identified the woman who died following a stabbing inside a Skyline Chili restaurant in Norwood as 27-year-old Alyssa Hill, a mother of two young children.
According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Skyline Chili location on Montgomery Road. Responding officers arrived to find Hill suffering from multiple stab wounds inside the restaurant. Emergency personnel transported her to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Court records indicate that 37-year-old Rick Wright was arrested shortly after the incident and has been charged with murder in connection with Hill’s death. Investigators allege that Wright stabbed Hill before leaving the scene.
Authorities have stated that Wright and Hill were previously involved in a relationship, with court documents identifying Wright as Hill’s former boyfriend.
During Wright’s initial court appearance on Wednesday, a judge ordered that he remain in custody without bond pending a detention hearing scheduled for Friday.
Prosecutors also outlined Wright’s prior criminal history during the hearing. According to information presented in court, Wright has previous convictions that include assault, menacing, robbery, drug trafficking, and carrying a concealed weapon. Records further show that he was the subject of an active warrant after allegedly violating probation related to an assault case filed in February 2025.
Representatives from the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office described Hill as “a mother, daughter, co-worker, and friend,” emphasizing the significant loss experienced by her family, friends, and community.
Prosecutors argued that Wright poses a continuing public safety concern, citing what they described as a substantial history of violent conduct.
Hill’s death has left loved ones mourning the loss of a young mother whose life ended in a tragic act of violence. Family members have stated that she leaves behind two young children.
The Norwood Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing as criminal proceedings move forward.
At the time of publication, the family had not publicly released details regarding obituary information, funeral arrangements, or memorial services. Those details may be announced at a later date.
