Justin Blackburn (48) and Hannah Lucio (22) Identified as Victims of Wrong-Way Head-On Crash on State Highway 121 Near Sylvania in Fort Worth: Fort Worth Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit Seeks Answers in May 31, 2026 Fatal Collision

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth community is mourning the tragic loss of Justin Blackburn, 48, and Hannah Lucio, 22, who were killed in a devastating wrong-way crash on State Highway 121 near Sylvania on the morning of May 31, 2026.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers responded to reports of a wrong-way driver at approximately 4:30 a.m. Shortly afterward, a violent head-on collision occurred involving a white pickup truck and a blue sedan.

Justin Blackburn, who was driving the pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene. Hannah Lucio, the driver of the sedan, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later died from her injuries despite extensive lifesaving efforts by medical personnel.

The Fort Worth Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not yet publicly determined which vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction, and investigators are reviewing evidence, witness statements, and any available surveillance footage. Toxicology testing and additional forensic analysis are also underway.
